About Ahmed Mussa
Ahmed Mussa is currently the Head of the Legal Department of Messrs Ritz Attorneys at Law. He has been with Ritz Attorneys at Law since 2013 and he has vast experience in drafting Legal and Commercial documents and has drafted all of our in-house rules, procedures, and policies.
Ahmed specialises in Commercial Law [transactional and litigation], especially interested in legal aspects of the energy industry – oil and gas, extractives, independent power producers, and their regulatory environment.
Ahmed is a member of the Malawi Law Society and has applied for membership of the Commercial Bar Association of Malawi [COMMBAR].
Ahmed holds a Bachelor of Laws [LLB Honours] and a Remedial Certificate in Arts and Social Science both attained from the Islamic University in Uganda. He was accepted into the University of Dundee to read for a Master of Laws [LLM] in Energy [Oil & Gas] LLM in Energy Law and Policy. He has further accepted into and currently enrolled with the University of Cape Town [UCT] to read a Master of Laws [LLM] in Energy [Mineral and Petroleum Extraction & Use] from January 2020 to February 2021.
Ahmed further holds a Certificate in Drafting Commercial Agreements presented by the Malawi Law Society, November 2015, an Advanced Course Certificate in effective legal writing from the University of Cape Town [UCT] under the Professional Development Project in September 2018 and a Certificate in Negotiations and Contracting in the Oil and Gas Sector from the International Law Institute, November 17-21, 2019 in Dubai, UAE.
Ahmed also doubled as a Company Secretary for Ritz Farms and Property Investments Limited and is a part-time Law Lecturer at the Blantyre International University lecturing three courses namely: Company Law, Law of Evidence, and Legal Drafting and Conveyance.
